Grace’s Association of young people collectively runs a cassava farm. It takes 18 months from planting to harvesting cassava. Cassava is a good crop as it is cheap to buy seeds but gets a high return at market.

After harvest, the cassava is soaked in water, then left in the sun to dry. When it’s dry, they pound it and sell it as flour or tapioca. They can also sell the cassava as a whole vegetable. It’s a versatile vegetable – they can even make cassava bread.

Following on from PROEXPOSURE’s digital story-telling training with Progressio Peru, this week we ran photography training with Progressio staff based in London. The Progressio photographers will soon be travelling to East Timor and Zimbabwe to collect digital stories.

Gebreselassie an Ethiopian long-distance track and road running athlete, has broken 27 world records, won numerous Olympic and World Championship titles and is widely considered one of the greatest distance runners in history.

Over 33,000 runners took part in last year’s Great Ethiopian Run, an international 10km race. Throughout the year the NGO Great Ethiopian Run organise races across Ethiopia for men, women and children encouraging participation in sport and raising money for charities in Ethiopia.

PROEXPOSURE photographers Ashe, Betelhem, Yenenesh and Ashenafi have worked photo commissions at the Great Ethiopian Run for both local and international NGOs.

PROEXPOSURE together with SERPAR, the Park Service of the Municipal Council are inaugurating a photographic exhibition at the Cubo Dorado, Lima showcasing the photographs of our SERPAR photographers who have been recording life in the parks throughout the city.
